    As much as i'd love to think of davey crockett going down in a blaze of glory, there is credible evidence that he was indeed captured, tortured and executed. It's in a diary from one of Santa Ana's officers, its called the De La Peña Diary, and it gives an account of the battle as well as the officer's life after the rebellion.
