What great news. Uncle Buzz is taking our sonny boy back to college today so he will be surprised to find out you are going to have a boy. This makes gift buying easier.

Aunt Debbie

Re: The Art of Manliness Weekly Roundup: Baby Boy Edition | The Art of Manliness

Congratulations and thanks for the BB link!

Re: The Art of Manliness Weekly Roundup: Baby Boy Edition | The Art of Manliness

Everyone says your life changes forever. I never believed it and always said that my kids would have to fit into my life instead of the other way around. I was wrong. It changes everything and your perspective on life changes. You can be as ready as ever, but it still changes you. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Congrats and good luck!

Re: The Art of Manliness Weekly Roundup: Baby Boy Edition | The Art of Manliness

Congratulations, guys! Boys are the best thing ever. And with your combined hilarity, this kid is going to be better than Jerry Seinfeld, or even Yogi Berra (?), or Carlos Menica....Now get on a plane and move here already. I miss you guys.

Re: The Art of Manliness Weekly Roundup: Baby Boy Edition | The Art of Manliness

I just want to give you my heart-felt congratulations. My wife and I just had our first child (a boy) exactly 1 month ago today... It's life-changing but a tremendous joy.

I wonder how your web site will adjust to the new frame of mind that is sure to come with the birth of your son. Maybe we'll see more parenting articles?

Congratulations and best of luck!

Re: The Art of Manliness Weekly Roundup: Baby Boy Edition | The Art of Manliness

My warmest and most heartfelt congratulations. Having just had our first boy in February (with our second due a few weeks after yours!), my wife and I can truly appreciate your joy. It only gets better...and if having a son of one's own does not inspire manly pride, responsibility, loyalty and selflessness, nothing will.

Re: The Art of Manliness Weekly Roundup: Baby Boy Edition | The Art of Manliness

Congrations on your impending fatherhood.

In regards to the article: "How this election could change the meaning of masculinity in America". I am of the opinion you need to read other's viewpoints to challenge how you see the world but I disagree with the tone of the article.

I would suggest the author is a 'quisling', - a man who is aiding the feminazi cause after having had his masculinity suppressed. I think that women need to be treated decently, but for me at least, Feminazism has done nothing to promote the general well-being of women. Rather they are being encouraged to neglect the traits that make women valuable (as mothers and wives) in favour of attempting to pursue stereotyped male behaviour.

I thought I came across the suggestion that those who were out the front of the feminazi movement were angered at the actions of their fathers (running off and leaving their mothers to raise children on their own), and tried to punish all men as a result of this action.

Talk of McCain or Bush et al representing masculinity is a false argument. The author has gotten the fact that these people are males (albeit juveniles in a mature body) mixed up with manliness suggests, to me, the author is ignorant of that which he speaks.

This blog is great because it is trying to emphasis the qualities that make a male into a man through responsibility to himself, his family, and the community in which he lives.

Re: The Art of Manliness Weekly Roundup: Baby Boy Edition | The Art of Manliness

Congratulations! I'm not taking a side with the article or advocating its position. I just thought it was an interesting read, whether one agrees with it or not, as it deals with the subject of masculinity.

Everyone else-Thanks for the congratulations.

Re: The Art of Manliness Weekly Roundup: Baby Boy Edition | The Art of Manliness

Regarding:
How This Election Could Change the Meaning of Masculinity in America
Please don't tell me you are buying into this crap???
Haven't we been Oprah-ized, Alan Ald-ized, and just plain wussified enough?
Dear Lord in Heaven, please don't tell me that this hogwash has now attained the mantle of manliness?
Think what Teddy Roosevelt would have thought of that column: from a purported man writing for Women's enews???
Heaven help us should we be attacked by anyone ever again...

Rich

Re: The Art of Manliness Weekly Roundup: Baby Boy Edition | The Art of Manliness

Congratulations, nothing more manly than makin a bady. and a baby boy at that

Re: The Art of Manliness Weekly Roundup: Baby Boy Edition | The Art of Manliness

Congrats!!! =]

Re: The Art of Manliness Weekly Roundup: Baby Boy Edition | The Art of Manliness

Lucky devil. You kids these days, making families and all that stuff... I wanted to voice an objection to the article about how the election changes manliness. It is nothing more than a sneering, partisan shot at Republicans, and gushing over The Messiah. Nothing gentlemanly about it.

Re: The Art of Manliness Weekly Roundup: Baby Boy Edition | The Art of Manliness

That's great news!
