Wife and I were in Germany this past year for the Christmas markets. Stopped in local (Wertheim) haberdasher to look at his hat selection. With expert help finally selected a fedora which fitted my somewhat long face. Upon payment I looked at the brand - expecting to see a German name.
The hat was a Stetson - imported from the USA.

Where can I find a website with a packable /foldable hat? Traveling on a plane comes with many difficulties relative to hat placement.
I have found it particularly difficult to find a warm weather hat which is packable.

Just wondering hat your thoughts would be on the "cowboy hat" as many of us Texas men wear at work, play, or in-between? Straw in Spring/Summer, and Felt in Fall/Winter. Got more ways of creasing them than you could shake a stick at, too!

I've got more of A square face I think, I have brown hair, wear all black and A TopHat. I personally like the way it looks and don't really give A dam what random people on the street think.

Advise from Holland: Buy rather a 200 dollar hat then a 75 dollar one. You'll forget about the 200 dollar (or more) within a week, but enjoy your quality hat for years every time you wear it.

Just recently bought a Fedora for my son. Try www.villagehatshop.com . A good website with lots of info.Lot of hats to chose from. They are very nice quality hats for reasonable prices. Sizes run a bit large.

I'll stick with my bell crown black top hat. It's the best hat I;ve ever worn in the winter. I hate stocking caps, they make you look like you're trying to stuff your head in a condom. The top hat keeps a column of warm air over your head so you stay warm. Everybody who sees it asks me where I got it.

I have a long narrow face. I was looking at a Brixton Brood Brown/Khaki Herringbone hat. Would that not compliment my face? I usually just wear baseball hats. Looking for a change.

what about those of us with large protruding pancakes sitting on the side of our head!
what kinda hat for me dude!
when i was 12 i'd tuck my ears inside a ball cap and go to sleep, hoping that they would sit closer to my skull by morning... it didn't work.
now - at 42, i'm learning to like them... it makes for great conversation... like "why did they call you dumbo..." or "why did your mom need special surgury to have you removed from the womb..."
but the subject is HATS! I love hats but hats distain me! my wife and two daughters reject every hat I've brought into the house....
I love HATS but hats hate me.

The second hat pictured; the one with the green/tan/red houndstooth pattern...what kind of hat is that? I've figured it out before; I really like that kind of hat but they're hard to find. Hell; they're hard to name, so they must be hard to find. Any help? I don't think it's a trilby, I know it's not a fedora, and I'll kill you if you say bucket. Thanks in advance.

Anybody aware of a manufacturer of a hat/toque made of the same material as the woolen Beret? The hat serves like the Afghani hat by being able to roll down to the tip of the nose for sleeping but when pleated up it has a dapper effect like a sailor's woolen toque.

I only know they exist because I found one soaked on the ground and thinking it was a Beret disregarded it for a time. When I washed it and noticed the style, and then wore the thing, it easily surpassed my devotion to the beret as my nature chapeau.

I would like to know of a manufacturer.

I am fortunate enough to work with in walking distance to Peters Brothers, in downtown Ft.Worth. They are now my one and only Hat Shop. They have been making hats at the same location, going on 100 years. My dad had a hat made there in 1984 and I have bought three there in the past year.
My collection includes a :
1 Grey Dobbs Dayton - I bought this one at the Man's shop in Arlington, in 1996 with tips I made delivering Pizza.
1 Natural Bailey Short Brim Straw Fedora - Picked this one up at a hat shop in Corpus Christi, in 1998.
1 Brown Scala Fedora (2006 model, looks like the Dobbs Carleton, but 100% fur Felt) - I bought this at the Peters Bros. as a X-mas gift to myself this past year.
1 Cognac Dobbs Carleton- I bought this at the Peters Bros. as a Father's day gift to myself this past year.
I don't count my cowboy hats, newsboy or flat caps.
My next hat is going to be a custom made Shady Oak from Peters Bros. I've seen two styles that really need to be added to my collection.
